Downtown Lisle—A Hidden Gem
If you haven’t visited downtown Lisle, you are missing out. Lisle is a village nestled between Downer’s Grove and Naperville and is home to Morton’s Arboretum. Lisle’s downtown is located off Route 53/Ogden Ave on Main Street and while small is host to several specialty stores and restaurants. Their cute main street boasts nods to its reputation as the Arboretum Village featuring a water fountain and metal leaves on the walls of the flower gardens.
Lisle has several restaurants that our family enjoys, NWB (The Next Whiskey Bar) has great food in a fun atmosphere, our family loves the cauliflower popcorn, burgers and for dessert whiskey donuts; as their name denotes, they have a great selection of whiskey and several other cocktail options. Another family favorite is Euro Crepes & Pizzeria, where you can choose from both savory and sweet crepes and delicious pizza; tell Louie, Lee sent you. R Urban Wine Bar & Café is new to downtown Lisle but is picking up steam, they serve wine and delicious food. Another great pizza place is Evviva which is across from the train station, we enjoy their pizza, pasta with vodka sauce and their salads. If you are in the mood for Mexican food Yerbabuena has some authentic dishes. You won’t be sorry you stopped by downtown Lisle for a meal, they are all good.
While downtown, you should also check out some of the shops, we have been shopping at Crème de la Crème Boutique & Gifts for years and just about everyone we know has received a gift from this shop. You can find high end fashion mixed in with home accessories and trendy jewelry. Another fun store is The Collective Ihe & Makery, a lifestyle boutique, with things to help make your home beautiful. In addition, they offer classes to learn how to make popular items. Around the corner you’ll find The Crafty Shop where they can help customize items with embroidery or etching. Tina’s Closet, previously, is place for ladies to find intimate wear and swimsuits that are sized to their body type. If you need a haircut, jewelry, flowers, show repair, or dentist you can find those things on Main Street as well.
Next time you are driving through Lisle, take time to visit our downtown, we are proud of what it offers and how it is growing. We would love to hear about your favorite Lisle spot.
